Vivian spills to Xander while Orpheus attempts to fool Marlena and Steve.
Marlena and Steve were still in Estonia trying to figure out their next steps. And that involved seeing Orpheus. Also, Xander faced Vivian while Sarah’s guilt proved too much.
Orpheus’ Lies
Marlena (Deidre Hall) used her psychiatric credentials, and Steve (Stephen Nichols) borrowed Tripp’s (Lucas Adams) medical credentials to visit Orpheus (George DelHoyo). They wanted to discover what he knew about John (the late Drake Hogestyn). He told them this story about how Rosebud was a codename for a black market arms exchange located just across the Latvian border.
However, Orpheus snuck a note to Marlena asking her to return alone. He then said he lied about the arms exchange. That he knew where John was, and he could take her as long as she could get him out of ISA custody. Turned out Marlena and Steve teamed up and figured out that Orpheus had lied about Rosebud — it’s only a sled! However, Andrew (Colton Little) had thankfully decrypted the file they found, and now they know Minsk — the capital of Belarus —is the key to finding John.
Marlena and Steve will let the ISA handle things from here on out. They are headed back to Salem.
Vivian and Sarah’s Truths
Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) came clean to Maggie (Suzanne Rogers), who reacted interestingly. At first, she seemed appalled and hurt at what Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier) did, but once Sarah told her the reason why she kept the truth from Xander (Paul Telfer), she came around. She saw the bigger picture, and it was a case of the end justifying the means. She didn’t tell her daughter what to do but listened and empathized with Sarah.
Ultimately, Maggie thought what happened was what Victor (the late John Aniston) would have actually wanted — for his sons to work side by side.
Meanwhile, at DiMera, Vivian (Louise Sorel) decided that if she couldn’t have what was promised, she would blow up Philip’s world. She made sure to tell Xander the truth and let it be known that even though she forged the letter, it was Philip who backstabbed Xander. It was kind of sad because at first, Xander talked about how he and his half-brother had grown closer and were working well together.
But once the bad news settled in, Xander looked mighty upset. Later, Vivian let Philip know that she revealed the sordid truth to Xander. And now it’s up to Philip to deal with the fallout. Just how massive of an eruption will it be? Because an angry Xander is a dangerous Xander.
What did you think of these truths coming out? And how proud are you of Marlena saying that she learned a lot from John, and so she didn’t fall for Orpheus’ BS? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
