It was a good day for Gemma shippers!
It was almost the moment we’ve all been waiting for between Gio and Emma during the September 16, 2025 episode of General Hospital.
Gio and Emma Grow Closer
From the day they met last Christmas Eve, Gio (Giovanni Mazza) and Emma (Braedyn Bruner) have been there for each other. Emma was there for Gio when he learned who his true parents were, while Gio has been her right-hand man as she tries to take down Professor Dalton (Daniel Goddard). The pair have become inseparable, and now, their bond has just strengthened.
With Outback missing, Emma has been determined to find her favorite pup. But when she got a call about a lead, she was devastated to find out someone had only found Outback’s collar. At the bar, while she tearfully shared her worries with Gio, he joined her on her side of the booth and wrapped his arm around her.
If that wasn’t sweet enough, when the two locked eyes, Gio stopped himself from leaning in for a kiss during Emma’s emotional moment. The awkward but cute moment left Gio putting an inch of distance between them for a moment before Emma decided they needed to get back out there and find Outback.
Gio and Emma, affectionately known as Gemma, have been shipped by GH fans for months, with the impending supercouple even winning in Soap Hub’s fan-determined competition against Days of our Lives’ Holly (Ashley Puzemis) and Doug (Peyton Meyer).
General Hospital spoilers for September 17 take the focus off Gemma and start GH’s goodbye to Leslie Charleson when Jason (Steve Burton) learns that Monica has passed.
