It’s been a long, long road since Drew was shot on General Hospital in October. Michael’s been at the top of our list of suspects for some time — and Tracy’s, too! Then there was the revelation that Curtis had hired Selina to take Drew out… only to learn that it likely didn’t actually happen. Now, of course, Willow’s on trial for the shooting, and, at the end of the day, who hasn’t wanted Drew dead?
But it all started to unravel once Alexis sowed enough reasonable doubt in court by making Michael seem just as possibly guilty as Willow. The attorney backed Jacinda into admitting she wasn’t with him that night, tricked Tracy into confessing that she saw him outside Drew’s the evening of the shooting and forced Michael to explain that he went there to confront Drew but left when Wiley called looking for his dad.
Michael heard the special ringtone he has for his son and realized confronting Drew would just cause more pain for his kids, so he went home. That’s when Kai and Trina looked at each other, thought back to hearing “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” the night of the shooting and decided that Michael was lying. Wiley called while he was inside — after shooting Drew! But they leapt to an awfully big conclusion. Because Michael never told us what the ringtone was
Still, Kai and Trina were determined to solve the mystery. They came a step closer — and two steps further away! — when it was revealed that Michael’s ringtone for his son is the boy saying, “Daddy, it’s Wiley, pick up.” So whose Wiley ringtone is “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star”? Later in the January 8 episode, Willow had an extremely revealing flashback.
While being questioned by Justine about Edward’s gun — aka the attempted murder weapon — Drew’s wife lied that she had never touched the thing. But her flashback said otherwise! Wearing black gloves, she’s stolen the firearm. As Willow continued to perjure herself, she recalled — not out loud, of course — that she drove to Drew’s house, removed the gun from her glove compartment and shot him.
The icing on the cake? Kai and Trina then heard Willow’s ringtone as Wiley called her: “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star”!
Now the question is, what will the couple do with this intel? Court has adjourned for the day. Will they rat out Willow or, given their own feelings about Drew and his machinations, remain silent, figuring that he got what he deserved?
