Brennan Exposes the Plot — Ava and Drew Are Arrested | General Hospital Spoilers
Spoiler warning: This article discusses current General Hospital developments and predictions about what could happen next. Brennan exposing the entire scheme and Ava and Drew being arrested together has not been officially confirmed, so the scenario below is analysis and speculation based on the storyline.
Brennan May Realize He Has Walked Straight Into a Trap
Jack Brennan has survived long enough in the intelligence world to understand when circumstances don’t add up. That experience could become extremely important after Ava Jerome and Drew Cain put their latest plan into motion.
The August 28 episode established the crucial pieces. Drew wanted access to Brennan’s room because Brennan possesses evidence concerning Drew and the McConkey Esplanade funds. Drew therefore enlisted Ava to keep Brennan occupied while he attempted to retrieve that evidence.
Ava went considerably further than simply distracting him, placing a sleeping medication into Brennan’s drink.
For Ava and Drew, the objective may appear straightforward. For Brennan, however, one small inconsistency could be enough to reveal that something is wrong.

Ava’s Move Could Become the Evidence That Changes Everything
Ava may believe she’s helping Drew solve a temporary problem, but her actions potentially create a much larger one.
If Brennan recognizes what happened before the scheme is completed, he suddenly has something far more valuable than suspicions. He has a reason to investigate exactly why Ava approached him and what Drew was doing at the same time.
The timing would be particularly difficult to explain.
Drew needs Brennan distracted. Ava provides that distraction. Meanwhile, Drew’s objective involves obtaining material Brennan has been using against him.
Those events could form a clear trail leading investigators back to both of them.
Drew Has More to Lose Than Brennan’s Evidence
The biggest problem for Drew is that Brennan’s information concerns something much larger than their personal rivalry.
The current storyline has established that Brennan possesses evidence allegedly connecting Drew to the misuse of money associated with the McConkey Esplanade project and his congressional campaign.
That gives Drew an obvious reason for wanting the material removed.
If Brennan can preserve the evidence while also establishing what Drew attempted to do at the Metro Court, Drew could suddenly find himself answering questions on two fronts.
The attempt to eliminate one problem could therefore create another.
Brennan Could Have Prepared a Backup Plan
There’s another possibility that fits Brennan particularly well.
What if the evidence in his room isn’t the only copy?
Someone with Brennan’s professional background would understand the danger of keeping valuable information in a single location. Drew may successfully reach what he believes is the critical evidence only to discover that Brennan anticipated exactly such an attempt.
That would create an effective reversal.
Instead of Drew stealing Brennan’s leverage, Brennan could allow Drew to expose precisely how desperate he has become.
Ava Could Realize Too Late That Drew Put Her at Risk
Ava’s position is different from Drew’s.
She initially showed hesitation about the plan, but ultimately participated. That distinction could become important if everything collapses.
Drew has the strongest apparent motive for getting into Brennan’s room because of the evidence Brennan holds. Ava, meanwhile, becomes the person directly responsible for distracting Brennan.
If authorities begin asking questions, Ava may quickly realize that Drew has placed her in the most vulnerable position.
That could destroy their alliance almost immediately.
Will Ava Turn Against Drew to Protect Herself?
This may be where the storyline becomes especially interesting.
Ava is rarely a character who quietly accepts responsibility for someone else’s scheme. If she realizes Drew’s plan could have serious consequences for her future, she may decide that cooperation with investigators is preferable to protecting him.
Drew could make exactly the same calculation.
That creates the possibility of two former allies desperately trying to establish that the other person was responsible.
Ava could argue that Drew created the plan. Drew could respond that Ava made her own choices while carrying it out.
Brennan would only need to stand back and let their partnership collapse.
Brennan Exposing Everything Would Be the Ultimate Reversal
The strongest spoiler scenario is that Brennan doesn’t remain an unsuspecting target for long.
He could piece together Ava’s unusual behavior, Drew’s movements and the attempted search of his room. If Brennan then reveals that he still possesses the original evidence, Drew’s entire strategy fails at once.
More importantly, Brennan could expose the conspiracy publicly.
Ava and Drew would enter the situation believing Brennan was trapped, only to discover that they had provided him with additional evidence against them.
Could Ava and Drew Actually Be Arrested?
An arrest would be a dramatic but plausible next step if investigators obtain sufficient evidence within the story.
However, viewers should distinguish confirmed developments from predictions. ABC’s official description for August 28 confirms that Ava “sets a trap” and Drew is “waylaid,” while the episode itself establishes their scheme against Brennan. It does not currently confirm that both characters will be arrested as the immediate outcome.
That makes the arrest scenario a theory about where these developments could lead rather than an established spoiler.
Still, General Hospital has created the ingredients for exactly that kind of reversal.
Drew’s Master Plan Could Become His Biggest Mistake
Drew entered this confrontation believing he could remove Brennan’s leverage.
Instead, his desperation may have exposed how much that leverage frightens him.
Ava has also crossed a line by agreeing to participate, giving Brennan another piece of the puzzle if he discovers what happened. What began as a carefully planned operation could unravel because neither Drew nor Ava fully accounted for the person they were targeting.
And Brennan isn’t an ordinary Port Charles opponent.
If he realizes what they’re doing before they realize he’s onto them, the next major scene may not be Drew celebrating the disappearance of Brennan’s evidence.
It could be Brennan calmly explaining exactly how Ava and Drew exposed themselves.
From there, an investigation—and potentially an arrest storyline—could turn Drew’s carefully constructed plan completely against him.
