Drew kills Ava when Brennan’s body is found, burying her remains elsewhere General Hospital Spoilers

Jack Brennan’s death was supposed to remain hidden. Drew Cain and Ava Jerome believed they had taken every possible precaution when they buried Brennan’s body in the nature preserve. They thought the isolated location would keep curious eyes away and allow them to move forward without anyone discovering the truth.
But they made one enormous mistake.

They underestimated a dog.

Yes, a seemingly innocent runaway dog could be the unexpected key that destroys everything Drew and Ava worked so desperately to conceal. And once Brennan’s body is discovered, Drew may realize that the biggest threat to his freedom isn’t the police, the sheriff, or even the evidence buried beneath the ground.

General Hospital Spoilers September 2: Ava and Drew Bury a Body…But Where?

It may be Ava herself.

The situation begins innocently enough with Harrison Chase doing Cody Bell a favor. While Cody and Molly are away on their book tour, Chase agrees to watch Outback. Unfortunately, keeping an energetic dog under control proves to be far more complicated than anyone expected.

Meanwhile, Danny Morgan finds himself in trouble after admitting that he scratched Chase’s truck. But that minor incident quickly becomes insignificant when Outback manages to escape.

Charlotte Cassadine eventually tracks the dog down, and she finds him in a very suspicious location: the nature preserve.

Outback isn’t simply wandering around.

He’s digging.

Charlotte has no idea why the dog is so determined to investigate one particular patch of earth. She simply catches him, puts the leash back on, and takes him away. But viewers know something Charlotte doesn’t.

Outback has discovered the exact location where Brennan was buried.

And the dog’s instincts aren’t finished yet.

At the hospital, another piece of the mystery begins falling into place. Dr. Isaiah Gannon has been treating Ava, and he becomes increasingly suspicious about the unusual tick he discovered on her.

Isaiah isn’t interested in gossip or accusations. He simply wants accurate information because the unusual parasite could be important from a medical standpoint. He needs to know where Ava encountered it so he can provide the appropriate information to the CDC.

But Ava isn’t exactly cooperating.

She dodges his questions and carefully avoids explaining where she picked up the tick. Ava has always been incredibly skilled at keeping secrets, and she certainly isn’t going to casually reveal that she may have been in the same area where a dead man’s body was secretly buried.

Yet Isaiah isn’t easily fooled.

Something about Ava’s story doesn’t add up.

The more evasive she becomes, the more suspicious he gets.

Then everything changes when Outback escapes again.

After Scout and Rocco spend some innocent time swimming near the boathouse, the dog once again takes off. And just like before, Outback seems determined to return to the nature preserve.

There is something there that he wants.

Something buried.

And this time, nobody may be able to stop him.

Meanwhile, Isaiah and Portia Robinson are spending time at the quiet cabin Spencer gave Isaiah. The location seems peaceful, but its proximity to the nature preserve suddenly becomes incredibly important.

When the two doctors notice a stray dog wandering near the property, their first instinct is to help.

Then Isaiah notices something familiar.

A tick.

Not just any tick, either.

It appears to be the same rare species he removed from Ava earlier.

Isaiah immediately becomes concerned. The odds of finding the same unusual parasite on Ava and on a dog roaming around the same area are difficult to ignore.

Portia also recognizes Outback and understands that the animal belongs to people in Port Charles. They try to catch him, but Outback has other plans.

He bolts.

Isaiah and Portia follow.

And the farther they go into the preserve, the more ominous the situation becomes.

Outback eventually reaches the same patch of disturbed earth where Drew and Ava buried Brennan.

The dog begins digging frantically.

Isaiah and Portia arrive moments later, expecting to retrieve a runaway pet.

Instead, they witness something horrifying.

General Hospital Weekly Recap: Brennan Is Dead — And Drew and Ava Bury the Body

The dirt begins moving.

Then something appears.

A human hand.

Brennan’s body has been found.

The secret Drew and Ava thought was safely buried is suddenly exposed.

Portia is horrified. Isaiah is stunned. Neither of them expected to stumble upon anything remotely resembling a murder scene.

But Isaiah’s medical instincts immediately begin connecting the clues.

The dead man is buried in the same general area where Outback picked up the rare tick.

And Ava was recently carrying that same parasite.

Isaiah doesn’t immediately tell Portia that he believes Ava could be connected to the discovery. Instead, he carefully explains that he removed the same type of parasite from one of his patients.

But the implication is impossible to ignore.

Ava may know something about Brennan.

And if the authorities begin investigating the circumstances surrounding Brennan’s death, Ava could quickly find herself under a microscope.

The sheriff is called.

The investigation begins.

And suddenly, the clock starts ticking for Drew Cain.

Drew knows exactly how dangerous this development is.

For him, Brennan’s body isn’t simply an unpleasant discovery. It is evidence.

Evidence that can connect him to the crime.

Evidence that can destroy everything.

And there is another problem.

Ava knows the truth.

She knows what happened.

She knows where Brennan was buried.

She knows how involved Drew was in the cover-up.

For a normal person, that would mean finding a lawyer and telling the truth.

But Drew is no longer behaving like the man viewers once knew.

The pressure appears to be changing him.

The honorable man, the devoted father, and the former Navy SEAL who once believed in doing the right thing seems increasingly distant. In his place is someone driven by fear, desperation, and an overwhelming need to protect himself.

As news spreads that Brennan’s body has been uncovered, Drew’s paranoia could reach a terrifying new level.

He knows investigators will start asking questions.

He knows the evidence may eventually point toward him.

And he knows Ava could become the person who destroys him.

That is where the situation takes its darkest turn.

Drew begins considering the unthinkable.

What if Ava talks?

What if she tells the authorities everything?

What if she decides to save herself rather than protect Drew?

Those questions could push Drew toward a horrifying decision.

Instead of seeing Ava as an ally, he may begin seeing her as a liability.

And once Drew reaches that point, Ava could be in serious danger.

The possibility of Drew killing Ava to silence her would mark a shocking transformation for his character. Ava may have participated in dangerous schemes before, but she never expected the person beside her in the Brennan cover-up to potentially turn against her.

That could make their relationship more dangerous than ever.

Ava has always survived by staying several steps ahead of everyone else. She knows how to manipulate people, hide evidence, and protect herself when circumstances become complicated.

But Drew may be becoming increasingly unpredictable.

And an unpredictable man with everything to lose is exactly the kind of person Ava should fear.

The discovery of Brennan’s body could therefore create two separate investigations.

The first is about what happened to Brennan.

The second could become a desperate race to determine whether Ava will survive long enough to tell the truth.

Imagine the tension when Ava realizes Drew isn’t trying to protect her anymore.

He’s trying to protect himself from her.

That changes everything.

Suddenly, every conversation between them could carry a hidden threat. Every phone call could feel like a trap. Every unexpected visit could make Ava wonder whether Drew has finally decided that eliminating her is easier than risking exposure.

And while all of this is unfolding, Isaiah and Portia have unknowingly become critical witnesses.

They weren’t looking for a murder mystery.

They were simply trying to help a dog.

But Outback’s determination to dig through the soil has potentially destroyed one of Port Charles’ biggest secrets.

A tiny parasite led Isaiah toward the truth.

A runaway dog led him directly to Brennan’s grave.

And now Brennan’s body could bring the entire cover-up crashing down.

For Ava, this is a nightmare.

For Drew, it could be the beginning of his complete downfall.

And for the authorities, the question is no longer simply who killed Brennan.

They will want to know why his body was buried in such a remote location, who knew about the grave, and who was responsible for trying to keep the truth hidden.

Every answer could lead directly back to Drew and Ava.

The most frightening possibility is that Drew may believe the only way to survive the investigation is to remove the last person who can expose him.

Ava.

If that happens, Port Charles could be heading toward one of its most shocking confrontations yet.

Ava thought she was helping Drew bury a secret.

She never imagined she might become the next secret he wants buried.

And if Drew truly crosses that final line, there may be no way for him to return to the man he once was.

The irony is almost unbelievable.

Drew and Ava thought they controlled Brennan’s fate when they buried his remains in the nature preserve.

But they couldn’t control nature.

They couldn’t control Outback.

And they certainly couldn’t control the chain of events that followed.

One dog.

One rare tick.

One disturbed patch of earth.

And suddenly, a carefully constructed cover-up is collapsing.

Now the real question is whether Ava will realize what Drew is contemplating before it is too late.

Will she turn on Drew to save herself?

Will Isaiah reveal that the parasite on Ava connects her to the same area where Brennan’s body was discovered?

And when investigators begin putting all the pieces together, how far will Drew go to keep himself out of prison?

Because Brennan’s body may have finally been uncovered.

But the darkest secret in this entire story may still be waiting to emerge.

And this time, Ava Jerome could be the person standing directly in the line of fire.
