Spoiler note: Jack Brennan is confirmed dead, and Drew Cain and Ava Jerome are confirmed to have secretly removed his body from the Metro Court and buried it in a nature preserve. Outback has also repeatedly returned to the burial area and dug at the disturbed ground. However, Outback has not yet literally brought Brennan’s body back to Port Charles, so that part of the headline remains a prediction based on strong on-screen foreshadowing.
Drew and Ava thought burying Jack Brennan would make their problem disappear. Instead, their decision may have created a trail of evidence leading straight back to them—and the unlikely investigator threatening to expose everything isn’t Chase, Jason or the WSB.
It’s Outback.
The determined beagle has already found Brennan’s burial site more than once. If Outback finally uncovers something recognizable or leads another character to the grave, Drew and Ava’s carefully constructed story could collapse almost overnight.
Drew and Ava Made Brennan Disappear
The cover-up began after Brennan was discovered dead in the Metro Court pool.

At first, Cody, Scout or another character might assume the dog simply found garbage in the woods.
Then someone recognizes it.
Suddenly Outback’s strange obsession with the nature preserve becomes extremely important.
Where did the dog find this?
Why does Outback keep returning there?
And what else is buried nearby?
Those questions could destroy Drew’s plan.
Charlotte’s Missing Bracelet Could Become Crucial

There’s already another physical clue tied to Brennan.
Charlotte lost a bracelet during the events surrounding the discovery of his body.
That detail hasn’t disappeared from the storyline.
If the bracelet remained with Brennan while Drew and Ava moved him, investigators could eventually recover it from the burial site.
That would initially create a frightening situation for Charlotte.
Police might wonder why something belonging to her was found with Brennan.
Charlotte would then have to explain the truth.
She and Danny discovered Brennan in the Metro Court pool.
They left.
Later, Brennan’s body disappeared.
That testimony could immediately establish something devastating for Drew and Ava:
Brennan did not originally die in the woods where he was buried.
Someone moved him.

Chase doesn’t need to know Drew and Ava are responsible before Brennan is recovered.
Finding the body would be enough to fundamentally change the investigation.

Ava may start believing Drew will sacrifice her.
Drew may believe Ava is becoming too nervous to remain reliable.
Each could begin secretly preparing a version of events that places more responsibility on the other.

Recovering Brennan Would Not Automatically Identify His Killer

Brennan was buried near Quartermaine territory.
Before that, he was at the Metro Court.
The security system was compromised.
His room was searched.
Then his body vanished.
Jason doesn’t need someone to confess.
He only needs enough inconsistencies to start looking at the right people.
And Drew may become very uncomfortable once Jason starts asking questions.
Outback Could Become the Hero of the Entire Mystery
That’s the wonderfully soap-like element of this storyline.
Drew believed he had chosen an isolated burial site nobody would investigate.
He accounted for police.
He accounted for witnesses.
He attempted to create an alibi.
What he apparently didn’t account for was one determined beagle refusing to leave the ground alone.
Outback has already returned to Brennan’s grave repeatedly.
Eventually someone is going to wonder why.
And when that happens, Drew and Ava could discover that their elaborate cover-up wasn’t destroyed by a master detective or WSB operation.
It was destroyed by a dog that simply kept digging.
Brennan Coming “Back” Could Change Port Charles Overnight
Brennan isn’t coming back alive—the character’s death and Chris McKenna’s exit have been confirmed.
But Brennan could return to the center of Port Charles in another sense.
His body being recovered would force everyone to confront what happened after his death.
Danny and Charlotte would have to explain what they witnessed.
Josslyn would finally learn Brennan didn’t simply disappear.
Carly and Jason could connect the Metro Court security sabotage to a much larger mystery.
Ava’s movements through the woods could face renewed scrutiny.
And Drew’s attempts to manipulate the people around him could become increasingly desperate.
Outback has already found the secret.
Now the only question is which human finally follows the dog far enough to discover it too.
Once that happens, Ava and Drew may no longer be fighting to keep Brennan hidden.
They could be fighting to keep each other from revealing who did what.
