Recap of The Bold and the Beautiful, CBS, Tuesday, October 13, 2026.
On Friday, Zende Forrester Dominguez gave his notice and then let Eric and Ridge talk him into staying. On Tuesday he left for real — and this time he took Dylan with him. Here is exactly how it happened, line by line, and the one promise Zende says Ridge broke within minutes of making it.
“It’s unforgivable”
The episode opened seconds after Monday’s cliffhanger. Dylan, stunned, asked Ridge if she was really fired. “Yes,” he said. “You pushed Zende to have a meeting with Logan. You’ve been here long enough to know how they operate and you still did it. It’s unforgivable.” Dylan insisted she had never betrayed him. Electra jumped in: “You let her get away with this and she’ll continue to betray us. She’ll do anything to impress Will.” Ridge told Dylan to get her things — security would walk her to her car.
Then Zende stopped the room. “Don’t fire Dylan because of me. I’m the one who went to Logan. I took the meeting. I listened to the pitch. Dylan has not uttered a single word against Forrester or this family.” He turned to his grandfather: “Grandad, you said you had my back. Choose Forrester and I call my own shots. What I say goes, right? Well, I say Dylan stays.”
Eric and Ridge tell him two different things
Eric tried to hold the middle. He told Zende he was being taken seriously, but added, “Dylan is taking orders from Katie.” Dylan swore she wasn’t: Katie had only said she and Hope wanted to talk to Zende, and “no lines were crossed.” R.J. shot back that Dylan was “looking out for yourself,” trying to ingratiate herself with Katie “because you’re obsessed with Will.”
Zende made it personal. “This is about me. This is about my future. I want to be here. But if I’m not respected…” He asked Ridge directly: “Tell me you agree with me, Ridge. Tell me Dylan stays.” Ridge’s answer was flat: “Tell me how many meetings we’ve had here at this company about security. I don’t trust her anymore. I have no recourse. I got to let her go.”
Zende: “There it is. Once again, siding with your son. Well, Ridge, I guess I have no recourse either. If Dylan goes, I go.”
The four words — and the Hope comparison
Ridge tried to shrug it off (“You’re making too much of this”). Zende didn’t let him. “The hell I am. You asked me to stay here and you deny my first request.” Then he reached for the comparison that has fans arguing tonight: “You’re going to side with your son, R.J., the same way you sided with your daughter when Hope begged to have her line reinstated. I get it. I get why they leave. I get why Hope and Katie left. If you’re not in line for the throne, you are a nobody.”
He named the offer: “Logan made a good offer. I’m going to take it.” When Ridge said “We need you. You’re critical to the success of this company,” Zende answered with the line that sums up the episode: “What did you think was going to happen, Ridge? Minutes after you promised me all the support I could ever ask for, you shove me down and you side with these two. This is R.J. and Electra’s domain. I’m never going to get a fair shot here. It doesn’t matter that my last name is Forrester.” His last words in the office: “I love you guys. You’re my mentors. I looked up to you. But I need more. I’m out.” Eric’s plea — “Don’t make the same mistake I did” — did not stop him.
What Dylan said in the design office
Dylan thanked Zende for standing up for her but told him, “I don’t want you to leave Forrester. They need you here.” Zende said it wasn’t about her: “This has been building for a long time. I just didn’t want to face it. I didn’t want to believe that they thought so little of me.” He pointed at Eric too — “He’s not the CEO. Ridge pushed him out, too” — and at R.J.: “For weeks, R.J. has been telling me how great it is to be working with me. It’s all smoke. He knew his dad would do whatever he asked.” His verdict: “I can’t take this favoritism, the nepotism, the disrespect for me and for my position.”
“This building would just crumble at my feet”
Eric caught them at the elevator. “I need you to stay. We need you here. We need your skill and your talent and your vision… You’re the next generation of Forrester. You and Steffy and R.J. and Thomas, all of you. And you’re carrying on my legacy. And if you don’t do it, this building would just crumble at my feet.” Zende said Ridge doesn’t agree; Eric said Ridge was “just angry” and wants him to stay as much as he does. Zende: “I wish I could believe that. But I can’t. Not anymore… This doesn’t feel like the place for me anymore. Not for my ideas. I’m going to miss you, Grandad.” They hugged. “I love you, too,” Eric said. Zende left with Dylan.
Back-story
This is Zende’s second resignation in three airing days. On Friday, October 9, he gave his notice after Katie and Hope’s pitch at Logan. On Monday, October 12, Eric talked him into staying with the promise that he would lead the new line — and in the same episode Ridge fired Dylan (“She probably is innocent… but the fact is you got involved with Katie and with Hope”). Katie had asked Dylan on September 28 to get Zende talking to Hope, which is the “message” Zende keeps saying was all Dylan ever passed on. Ridge summed up his own mood to R.J. on Monday: “They took my dad, then Hope. Now they want Zende.” Hope signed with Logan on May 25; Will joined on June 3; Katie runs the company with them and new designer Deke.
What’s next
Soaps.com’s preview says “big news” is about to hit the House of Logan, and Soap Central closes its recap by asking whether Zende and Dylan are gone for good and whether Hope and Zende will reunite at Logan Designs. Nothing has been confirmed beyond that.
Your call: Was Ridge protecting the company — or did he just hand Katie her best designer? And should Eric have overruled his son?
