The Young and the Restless, Thursday, October 15, 2026 (CBS). Victoria and Kyle have had close calls before. Thursday’s was different, because this time the person on the other end was Victor Newman — and he was not guessing.
How the morning started
Victoria woke up at the secret apartment with Kyle again. “Last time we fell asleep, he had me worried, and it seemed like it really would be the last time for anything,” she said of the alarm. Kyle had to leave for Billy’s rehearsal dinner. Victoria insisted she was fine with her ex’s new chapter: “We loved each other, you know, Billy and I … He reminded me of something very important: that I was capable of having a lot of fun.” She also told Kyle she had spoken to her mother and no longer thought they needed their planned “social media competition” as a cover story — “I really don’t think we’re on anyone’s radar.”
She was wrong within the hour.
The call she almost missed
Victoria was still getting dressed when Victor rang. “Dad. Hello.” Victor: “Are you ready?” Victoria: “Am I ready for what?” Victor: “The video call with Japan is on right now. You know it doesn’t look good when the CEO is late.” She covered with “I didn’t see the alert, but it’s not an issue,” took the call from the apartment with a blanket over her lap, apologized to the Japanese partners for the delay and ran the meeting from the waist up.
“I was on it.”
When the call ended, Victor phoned again. Victoria: “Well, your timing is uncanny, Dad. We just ended the call.” Victor: “I was on it.” Victoria: “What? I didn’t see you on the guest list.” Victor: “I used the incognito mode.” He explained he can sit on a conference call without the others knowing — “I can do it, and I have access.” Victoria, rattled: “I wish that you would have mentioned that when we spoke before the call.” Victor: “Is that a problem or what?” Victoria: “It’s just a surprise.”
He gave her a half-compliment — “I think you handled things well, although you were late. You smoothed it over” — and then noticed the room behind her. “Hold on one second. I don’t recognize the background on your call. Where are you?”
The “punk Abbott” question
Victoria’s answer: “I’m at a friend’s place. But I had privacy, so there’s no chance for corporate espionage.” Victor did not let it go. “Why are you not at your place, or at the office? Does this have anything to do with the punk Abbott?” Victoria: “What? Why are you saying that?” Victor: “You heard what I asked.” Victoria: “Dad, why would you — no. Look, my schedule just got muddled, and you’re reading pretty much into it. I promise I will not get distracted again.”
Soap Central’s recap notes that she laughed off his accusations. Victor said nothing more — which, with Victor, is rarely the end of it.
What Kyle asked when he came back
Kyle slipped out of the Abbott dinner early (“got to head back to the office,” he told Jack and Diane, who later remarked that “he better let up soon or he’s never going to have another relationship in his life”). Back at the apartment, Victoria told him the call had been “insanity … I was half-dressed and in full panic.” Kyle had watched it too: “You were composed. You impressed all.” Then: “So, Miss Newman, I need to ask you a very important question … Did you get your clothes on in time?” Victoria: “No.”
What neither of them said out loud: Victor now has a background he does not recognize, a daughter who was late, and a name he has already attached to it.
Where this sits in the story
We counted the pair’s near-misses earlier this week in our list of Victoria and Kyle’s close calls. Soaps.com’s spoilers for this week promised that “Victor stays one step ahead of Victoria” on Thursday — and that is exactly what the incognito trick was.
What’s next
Soaps.com’s spoilers for Friday, October 16 say Sally and Billy’s family and friends gather for the epic wedding, with a surprise guest teased. Kyle will be in that room as an Abbott; Victoria is the groom’s ex-wife.
