Willow Turns Down Lulu’s Offer — “Not Good Enough” — Then Refuses to Talk to Joe About Jack Brennan Without a Lawyer

Willow Turns Down Lulu's Offer —

General Hospital recap, Thursday, October 15, 2026

Lulu Spencer came to Congresswoman Willow Tait’s house with one goal: make the libel suit go away. She left with Willow promising to make her lose everything — and minutes later, a detective was standing in Willow’s kitchen asking about Jack Brennan.

How Lulu got in the door

Willow was furious from the first second. Lulu had called about her daughter’s headband to get herself invited over. “It’s pretty low, even for you,” Willow told her. Lulu admitted she regretted “having to resort to subterfuge,” but said Willow had ignored her messages. Willow’s answer: all communication goes through her lawyer.

The deal on the table

Lulu warned that very few libel suits succeed — and that as a congresswoman, Willow has to prove “actual malice” by clear and convincing evidence. A trial, she said, would bring questions about Willow, Sidwell, Brennan and Drew. Willow fired back that she would drop the suit on one condition: a full retraction.

Lulu’s counteroffer was a correction. Her story, she offered, could say Sidwell “was heavily medicated during our interview.” Willow: “Not good enough. I want a full retraction, or the libel suit goes forward.”

Lulu refused. “I’m not willing to compromise my journalistic integrity,” she said. “I wrote exactly what Sidwell said. My story is nothing but the truth, and I stand by it.” Willow: “Then I’ll see you in court.”

Willow’s threat

Before that, Willow had spelled out what she wants: “I’m going to make sure you lose everything.” Lulu’s reputation, her livelihood — “By the time I’m done, no self-respecting newspaper will ever hire you again.” Lulu, Willow predicted, would end up “self-publishing a pathetic gossip blog online.”

Then Joe walked in

The detective had come to talk about “the disappearance of Jack Brennan.” Willow called the Invader article’s insinuations “tawdry,” said the story is “completely unfounded,” and asked whether his superiors know he is “harassing a sitting congresswoman.” Her final word: she won’t speak to anyone from the PCPD “without my lawyer present.”

And she blamed Lulu for it: “Because of that libelous article you wrote, now I’m being pursued by law enforcement.” When it comes time to seek damages, Willow said, she’ll be “tacking on another zero.”

Lulu’s ace

In a later scene, Joe asked Lulu if she knew any way to link Willow to Brennan’s collapse. Lulu said everything she knows is in the article, that Sidwell was lucid when they talked, and that he was “very clear” about Willow keeping Drew in a locked-in state with drugs from the WSB — “and I have the recording to back it up.” They went over how Drew’s and Brennan’s strokes both began at Willow’s house, ending on one plan: a more thorough look at Brennan’s movements before he disappeared.

A second blow for Willow

Willow also visited Curtis and his lawyer Monet with bad news: the governor won’t approve his transfer to Spring Ridge. Monet told Willow that at this stage, she and Curtis “can’t afford” Willow’s help on the case anymore.

Background

The fight started with Lulu’s Invader article quoting Sidwell about a paralytic drug; per recaps of the October 9 episode, Britt later showed Sidwell the article and urged him to take his way out, and he told Dante everything in it was lies. Willow then sued Lulu for libel (October 13).

What’s next

Soaps.com’s weekly spoilers list Thursday as “Joe questions Willow.” Friday’s preview says “Ric takes on a new client” — no name given.
