Young and the Restless: Ashley's Three Red Flags on Billy's Wedding Morning — and What Traci and Abby Said to Shut Her Down

Based on the CBS episode of Friday, October 16, 2026.

On Thursday night Ashley asked Jack whether Billy could “handle another loss.” On Friday morning, in Roaring-Twenties dress in the Abbott living room, she went further and named her reasons — hours before Billy and Sally’s ceremony. Here is the full exchange, and how her sister and daughter answered it.

“I’m entitled to my feelings”

It began when Abby noticed her mother had gone quiet. “Mom, you’re quiet. Please don’t tell me you’re still having second thoughts about this marriage.” Ashley’s answer: “For the record, I am not against this marriage. It’s just that the Abbotts have been through so much in the last few years, and finally I feel like we’re kind of finding some peace. I just don’t want this union to tear it all down.” When Abby pushed — “Can we just be happy for them and watch them be happy?” — Ashley said she agreed, then added the sentence that set the tone for the day: “He’s poured his whole heart and his whole soul into Sally and this baby. I can’t help it. I’m a little worried how he’s going to handle it if this marriage implodes.” Told that was “kind of harsh,” she replied: “Well, clearly I’m in the minority, but I’m entitled to my feelings and I’m concerned.”

Red flag one: Sally’s past

Later, with Traci and Abby, Ashley made her case. “Yes, we have all had our reservations about Sally, but I really do think she’s changed,” Traci offered. Ashley: “But you admit that she was a schemer when she first came to town. And what happened in LA with the Forresters? Please don’t get me started.” Abby reached for the family’s highest authority: “You all have always said what a great judge of character your father John was. What do you think he’d say about Sally?” Traci: “I think that he would accept her issues with no judgment and welcome her to the family with open eyes.” Ashley: “Okay, maybe you’re right. I hope you’re right. I still have concerns.”

Red flag two: the proposal came after the pregnancy

Traci asked her to leave it at home: “I hope that you won’t bring your concerns to the festivities today.” Ashley: “Traci, of course not. I’m not the bad guy here. I see some red flags. How about the fact that Billy asked Sally to marry him when he found out she was pregnant? What if he did that because he thought it was the right thing to do?” Abby: “You’ve seen him with her. He’s clearly over the moon.” Ashley: “Exactly.”

Red flag three: “You know our brother. He’s very impulsive.”

“So what if he gets caught up in the moment, he’s caught up in the emotion, and things settle down and he’s made a mistake?” Ashley asked. Abby: “I’ve seen them at my restaurant. They definitely seem like they’re in love.” Ashley: “Sadly, that’s not always enough. All I’m saying is, with Sally’s past, with Billy’s past, I think it’s completely normal to have a modicum of doubt about this marriage. That being said, I hope it’s a huge success. I really do.” Traci closed it: “Then we are going to think good, positive thoughts, because the last thing Billy needs is to know that you have cold feet about the woman he wants to spend the rest of his life with.”

Meanwhile, the groom

Downstairs at the venue, Jack asked Billy how he was feeling. “I can’t believe it’s finally here. My wedding day,” Billy said. “How’s the groom feeling?” — “Invincible.” Ashley, for her part, put on her best face: she was “so kind” to Sally the night before, Traci noted, and sent the pastries from Paris for the bachelorette party.

What Ashley is pointing at

Soap Central’s Sally Spectra character history covers the Los Angeles years Ashley means — the Forrester schemes on The Bold and the Beautiful before Sally arrived in Genoa City — and her early run at Jabot and Fenmore’s, where Lauren fired her. In Friday’s episode, Lauren herself gave the other side of that argument: “She and I had our issues and I fired her, but she just did what I would have done back in the day, and I’m pretty sure I was worse… I think she and Billy are perfect for one another.” As for Billy’s record, Thursday’s rehearsal dinner had Grams asking him on video to “convince us you won’t tank this relationship, too.”

What’s next

Soaps.com’s spoilers for the week of October 19 say the ceremony continues Monday with “a surprise guest,” that on Wednesday “Sally and Billy meet their first challenge as a married couple,” and that “Ashley and Traci give Abby a history lesson.” On Thursday, “Billy just got done saying his vows to Sally, and now he’s making her a promise.”

Your call: Is Ashley the only Abbott being honest — or is she the one about to spoil her brother’s day?
