General Hospital recap, Friday, October 16, 2026
Josslyn Jax walked into the Aurora gym on Friday’s General Hospital wanting a heavy bag. She got Emma Drake instead — and a takedown that went all the way back to their childhood. By the end of the night, the person Joss had upset most, Gio, was quietly wondering whether his grandfather Sonny has been telling him the truth.
Scene 1: “Picturing Sonny’s face”
Hudson, fresh off being thrown out of Sonny’s gym on Thursday, ran into Joss at the Aurora. Her mood: “I forgot that there’s no heavy bag here, and all I wanted to do is hit something really hard while picturing Sonny’s face.” Gio — Sonny’s grandson — and Emma heard it.
Joss said she didn’t mean for Gio to overhear. “I’m Gio’s friend. I’m not Sonny’s friend,” she said, and Sonny “having Trina’s father beaten in prison is only the latest terrible thing that he’s done.” When Joss asked if Emma was really defending Sonny, Emma shot back: “No, I’m defending Gio. Because my world doesn’t revolve around you and your feelings.”
Scene 2: Every shot Emma fired
Joss told Emma she just hates her — “It has since we were kids. Just own it.” Emma did: “I own it. One hundred percent.” Then the list:
- She called Joss an “entitled” brat who has been that way “forever.”
- On the WSB: Joss was “a big bad WSB agent for about a year. Then you got bored.” Joss: “No, I got shot.” Emma: “Is that not what you sign up for?”
- “You lied to your friends.”
- The line that will be quoted all week: Joss is hoping her father hands her his multi-billion-dollar corporation “so that you can make the transition from WSB Barbie to CEO Barbie.”
- “You take whatever you want, and you treat everyone else like they’re disposable.”
- Later: Joss “treated the WSB like it was a game,” will do the same with her dad’s company — and “if you tank it, which you will,” he’ll only have himself to blame.
Joss’s comeback: “It kind of just sounds like you’re jealous because I can do things you can’t.”
Scene 3: Hudson takes Joss’s side
“She really doesn’t like you,” Hudson observed. Joss: “No, she doesn’t. Never has.” SheKnows notes Hudson laughed about the childhood love quadrangle of Emma, Cameron and Spencer. In the last scene, he told her that her “childhood frenemy” may only see who she was at 8 or 18, “but you are none of the things she says you are.” His kicker: “I’ve never once met a corporate executive who did their own espionage.”
Scene 4: Gio’s doubt
At the bar, Gio told Emma she didn’t need to defend him. “Joss has her history with my grandfather. I have mine,” he said. His gut reaction was to defend Sonny — but now he’s starting to wonder. Dante is “absolutely certain” Sonny is behind the attack — though even he admits he can’t be objective. Sonny swears he’s innocent, and Gio has never known him to lie to his face — yet, per SheKnows, he has a feeling that “something’s off.”
What viewers know that Joss and Gio don’t
As our earlier piece on Curtis’s case laid out, Soap Opera Digest and Michael Fairman TV both reported (Sept. 30) that Ava came up with the plan to pin Sidwell’s Pentonville beating on Sonny — and Drew bankrolled it. Curtis got hurt in that attack. So the “latest terrible thing” Joss lists against Sonny is the one viewers saw Drew pay for.
