Friday’s General Hospital (October 16) ended with a stranger at the Brown Dog. After a rough night in which a tipsy Britt Westbourne snapped at Jason and Dante, lashed out at the men around her and told her co-workers to leave if they didn’t like her, she ordered a ride-share — and a man at the bar bought her a drink. His name was never said on air. Here’s who he is.
The character: Jude
The newcomer is Jude, played by Australian actor Wil Traval. Soap Opera Digest confirmed he debuted in the October 16 episode as the charming stranger at the bar, and that his name was kept off-screen in his first appearance so he would stay a mystery. TV Insider has teased that Jude’s identity and his connections to Port Charles “will come into focus in the weeks ahead.”
Fans have already noticed the name. When the casting was announced in September, Soaps.com writer Charlie Mason wondered aloud whether “Jude” points to the Jacks family. That is speculation only — the show has not said who Jude is related to, if anyone.
The actor: Wil Traval

- How he got the part: According to Soap Opera Digest, GH approached him in June about auditioning while he was recovering from a serious car accident that left him with a broken back. He did a chemistry read with Kelly Thiebaud (Britt) and learned the role was his.
- Role size: Jude was first planned as a short guest role. After his first week of taping, producers said they might offer him a contract (Soap Opera Digest, via TV Insider).
- Past work: U.S. viewers may know him from Marvel’s Jessica Jones (as Will Simpson), plus guest spots on Grey’s Anatomy and Chicago P.D.; in Australia he played a doctor on All Saints (Soaps.com).
- In his own words: Traval told TV Insider that working with Thiebaud is “the biggest delight in my life.”
What’s next for Jude and Britt
Jude doesn’t disappear after one drink. Soap Hub’s comings-and-goings column says Wil Traval’s Jude “connects with” Kelly Thiebaud’s Britt again on Monday, October 19 — the same day SheKnows Soaps teases that “Britt makes an intriguing deal.” Later in the week, Britt’s behavior “has people wondering” (Wednesday) and she shares gossip with Lucas (Thursday). The spoilers don’t say whether the deal involves Jude.
Britt just told Jason and Dante to make up their minds about whether she’s a hero or someone they can’t trust. Now a stranger with no last name walks into her life on the worst night she’s had in weeks.
