General Hospital cast news · Tuesday, October 20, 2026, before today’s episode
Nazneen Contractor’s Justine Turner returns to General Hospital today, and she isn’t coming back for Sonny Corinthos. Soap Hub’s weekly Comings & Goings says Port Charles’ top prosecutor “makes an intriguing offer to Drew” on Tuesday, October 20. Soap Opera Digest’s casting column for the week puts it more bluntly: Justine “tries to get Sonny put behind bars and enlists Drew’s help.” Soaps.com’s day-by-day spoilers list it the same way: “Justine makes Drew an offer.” Here is why that pairing matters.
How Justine and Sonny got here
Justine first arrived as ADA Turner, the prosecutor who went after Ava Jerome and later Jason Morgan. By summer 2026 she was the interim DA — and, per Soap Central (Aug. 16), secretly dating Sonny. Sonny had quit the mob and wanted to go public; Justine insisted they keep it quiet. Contractor herself teased it early: “There’s a lot more to Turner than meets the eye. Give her a chance. She’s a lot softer than we think” (Soap Central, Aug. 2025).
The breakup: October 5
Then Jenz Sidwell was beaten nearly to death in Pentonville, and Curtis was hurt in the fight. On the October 5 episode Justine confronted Sonny with video of his men, Vito Coronado and Sully, meeting before the attack. Sonny admitted he sent Vito — but, he said, “Not to beat up Sidwell. The exact opposite.” Vito is missing. “How convenient,” Justine said. Sonny: “No, it’s very inconvenient. Because someone is setting me up.”
She didn’t buy it. “I bought your lies hook, line, and sinker,” she told him. “You did a great job of seducing me… I fell hard. But not hard enough to give up everything I believe in.” She called herself “the acting district attorney” who had kissed him in public “more than once,” and ended it: “Whatever this was, it’s over. My office will discover the truth and put you away.” When Sonny repeated that he was telling the truth, her last words were: “That’s exactly what a liar would say. Good night.”
What viewers know that Justine doesn’t
Entertainment Now noted the painful irony in its Oct. 5 recap: “this time, Sonny was actually telling the truth.” On the September 30 episode, viewers saw who was really behind it. Soap Opera Digest and Michael Fairman TV both report that Ava came up with the plan to pin Sidwell’s beating on Sonny — and Drew bankrolled it. When Ava was horrified that Curtis got hurt, Drew argued Curtis could now be a trustworthy witness against Sonny.
So the man Justine is reportedly turning to for help putting Sonny away is the man who paid for the attack she’s trying to solve. What exactly she offers him, the spoilers don’t say.
The real-life twist
Contractor is married in real life to Carlo Rota — who plays Jenz Sidwell, the man beaten in Pentonville. Rota is also the one who told her GH executive producer Frank Valentini was considering her for the role, according to Soap Central.
What else is coming this week
Per Soaps.com, today Sonny also has a warning for Jason, and on Friday “Ava pitches a dangerous plan to Drew” while “Sonny dangles a tantalizing deal.”
