Why now: In the CBS episode of Monday, October 12, 2026, Victoria Newman woke up in Kyle Abbott’s secret pied-à-terre and realized she had stayed all night. “This can never ever happen again,” she said — meaning the sleepover, not the affair. Kyle’s fix was a smokescreen. “We already have code names,” he said, then suggested they pretend to hate each other in public. By the end of the hour, Victoria had talked Nikki into reviving the Vibrante–Jabot social-media war. Here is everyone who has come close to the truth, with dates.
How it started
After a near-kiss earlier in August, the two slept together for the first time on August 27 in Jack’s office at Jabot, over whiskey and a plan to stage a Jabot–Vibrante rivalry. They called it a one-time thing and agreed to tell no one. Then came a motel, the pied-à-terre Kyle rented on September 28 (Victoria calls it their “danger zone”) and, on September 30, phone code names: Boris and Natasha.

- Claire Newman — Victoria’s daughter and Kyle’s ex. August 25, two days before that first night: she found them together and asked what Kyle was doing with her mother. September 16: she saw Victoria smiling at a text and asked, “Who is it?” Victoria said it was a funny GIF from her assistant. September 30: Claire invited Kyle to join them at Society and reminisced about him and Harrison. October 9: Victoria told her she was going to the office and went to Kyle. Monday’s back-up story if Claire checks her room: caught up at work.
- Phyllis Summers — September 7: Phyllis left Matt Clark’s motel room just as Victoria left Kyle’s; Victoria hid behind a housekeeping cart. September 25: she turned up again and asked Kyle what he was doing there. He said he no longer answers to her.
- Matt Clark — September 24–25: Matt spotted Kyle leaving the motel and asked, “Whatcha doing here, Kyle?” Victoria was listening from the other side of the door. Matt’s guess to Phyllis: Kyle must be feeding an addiction. As of Monday, Matt is back in a Genoa City motel room, declaring that “hero time is over.”
- Jack Abbott — September 24: he watched Kyle read a text from Victoria; Kyle claimed he was off to work out. October 9: Kyle left Billy’s bachelor party saying he was heading to the office. October 12: “Please tell me you didn’t sleep at the office,” Jack said, and then, “You look like you haven’t slept.”
- Nikki Newman — August 27: Victoria told her she had simply run into Kyle. October 12: Nikki agreed to go after Jabot, but noted, “I thought you two were pals.” Victoria said she had only been civil. Soap Hub’s read: Nikki has no idea she is part of a performance.
- Victor Newman — September 28: Victoria told her father she had seen Matt Clark, and left out that it happened at the motel.
- Billy Abbott — Victoria’s ex-husband. September 28: he noticed Kyle’s big smile at Crimson Lights and asked if it was about the sales numbers. “Something like that,” Kyle said.
- Esther Valentine — September 16: at Crimson Lights she told a daydreaming Kyle he seemed “thirsty” — and said what a nice couple he and Claire had made.
Does anyone actually know?
As of the October 12 episode, no recap shows anyone knowing. Amelia Heinle (Victoria) told TV Insider in August, as reported by Soap Opera Digest, that being found out is “the furthest thing from their minds.”
