GH: Lulu Refuses to Retract Her Willow Story — Then Gets Served With a Libel Suit

General Hospital recap, Tuesday, October 13, 2026

Lulu Spencer walked into Tuesday’s episode sure she had the story of her career. She walked out of it holding legal papers. In one scene Dante told her to think about pulling her Invader article, Elizabeth told her she had crossed a line, and then a process server knocked on the door.

“He’s not denying that he said it”

Lulu opened the episode on the defensive: “I am telling you, Dante, I didn’t misquote a single word.” She repeated what Jenz Sidwell told her, that “Willow drugged Drew with a paralytic that he gave her”, and said she could prove it: “I recorded the entire interview.”

Dante’s answer is the line that should worry her most: “He’s not denying that he said it. He’s denying that it’s true.” Sidwell now says he was heavily medicated, has no memory of the interview and calls the quotes inaccurate. Dante warned her that “every cop and lawyer in town” would tell her the same thing, and that he’d rather she heard it from him “than from inside an interrogation room or up on a stand.”

Lulu didn’t budge. She said she hadn’t run the story on Sidwell’s word alone. She’d talked to medical professionals, and she pointed to “the link between Drew’s alleged stroke and Jack Brennan’s. There is no way that these two events are unrelated.” Her conclusion: “I have the receipts.”

Elizabeth: “Why did you interview me under false pretenses?”

Then Elizabeth arrived. “Lulu, why did you interview me under false pretenses?” she asked, angry that the article made it sound like she and Lucas were confirming a theory they hadn’t even heard of yet. Lulu’s reply: “It wasn’t a theory. Willow is guilty of drugging Drew.”

Liz also pressed her on how she got into Sidwell’s hospital room. Lulu said she “just walked into his room”, and Liz said she had explicitly told her no. Lulu’s defense was “I had Sidwell’s consent.” Then she turned the question around: “If our congresswoman is guilty of drugging her husband and keeping him locked inside his own body for months… what else is she guilty of?”

Dante and Liz both warned her. “What you’re accusing Willow of is very dangerous,” Liz said, adding that it “could affect her job, custody of her children.” Dante put it plainly: “Maybe it’s a good idea for you to look at retracting your article.” Lulu’s answer was “No way.”

The one admission Lulu got

Here is the detail that keeps this from being one-sided. Lulu asked Elizabeth straight out: “Did I misquote you in the article?” Liz conceded: “No. Technically, the quotes were accurate.” That was all Lulu needed. “Not only will I not retract the story, I’m doing a follow-up,” she announced. Liz warned she wouldn’t “find many friends at GH” the next time she came asking for quotes.

Seconds later came a knock at the door: “Lulu Spencer?” “That’s me.” “You’ve been served.” Lulu read the papers and said: “Willow Tate is suing me for libel.”

Back-story

Lulu’s Invader piece tied Drew’s stroke and locked-in syndrome to Jack Brennan’s stroke, which happened in the same house about six months earlier, and quoted Sidwell saying Willow drugged Drew. Since then Sidwell has publicly called the story “lies”, and Drew told Ava on Tuesday that he plans to deny everything in the article too (Soap Central).
