Why now: In the CBS episode of Tuesday, October 13, 2026, Phyllis Summers made her son Daniel co-CEO of Arabesque and announced it to Danny and Christine over lunch at the Athletic Club, which she now owns. Once Daniel left, Christine gave Danny her verdict: “She will veer off sooner or later. She sinks her ships. She fails. That’s what she does. But this time, I’m really afraid she’s going to drag Daniel down with her.” Here is every company Phyllis has run or owned, and how each one ended, with sources.
The list
- Glo by Jabot (website) — contract not renewed. Jack hired Phyllis to build the Glo by Jabot site. Soap Central’s character profile says it ended when Jack “put off renewing Phyllis’ contract,” and Victoria hired her away for Brash & Sassy at Newman.
- NVP Retreats — sold out from under her. She was a partner with Nikki in the Newman-funded venture. After Jack sued over it, Victor sold NVP to Jack and Nikki became CEO; Phyllis’s stake ended with the sale (Soap Central profile).
- Restless Style magazine — fired twice. She co-founded it with Nick, Jack and Sharon. Jack and Sharon were bought out, Nick later fired her over a story about Nikki, and Billy, as owner, fired her again after she hit Paul and Christine with her car (Soap Central).
- Jabot — CEO for five months, voted out. She took the CEO chair in late October 2018. On April 1, 2019, when it came out that she had never made Kerry sign a non-compete, Jack called a board vote. Soaps.com’s recap: “Only Phyllis and Lauren vote to keep her on.” Jack took the chair back the same day.
- Dark Horse — a title with no company. Soap Central lists her as “former CEO of Dark Horse”; a Soaps.com recap from that spring is headlined with Adam telling Phyllis that Dark Horse is dead. Soap Central’s profile also lists Jolie Chic Vision, with the note “never launched.”
- The Grand Phoenix — won by blackmail, then sold. Soaps.com recaps show Phyllis pressuring Chelsea for her hotel shares and Abby handing hers over while vowing to ruin her. On August 25, 2022, Summer begged her to wait before signing; Phyllis signed anyway and told Billy, “It’s done.” The Soaps.com recap headline names Lily as the buyer.
- Marchetti — fired by her own daughter’s company. She sold the hotel to go work beside Diane at Marchetti and promised Summer she could keep the peace. On September 22, 2022, after a fight that ended with Diane resigning, Kyle let Phyllis go. Her reply to Summer: “You fired me because of something Diane did.”
- Abbott Communications — fired by Billy. Soap Central reported her new position at Billy’s Abbott-Chancellor in September 2024. Its recap for the week of April 28–May 2, 2025, closes the chapter in one sentence: “When Phyllis remained fixated on helping Daniel, Billy fired her from Abbott Communications.”
Ship number nine
Arabesque is different in one way: it is the first company where Phyllis holds the keys herself, alongside Lauren, and now Daniel. Earlier this month she offered Cane a “one-and-done” deal to buy back the properties he had collected, including the Athletic Club (Soaps.com recap). On Tuesday Lauren vetoed renaming the company “SFR” — “I vote no. Because Arabesque is an established entity” — and Phyllis conceded the name, not the point: she wants the logo on the building where Victor sees it every day.
What’s next
Soaps.com’s spoilers for Wednesday, October 14, say Adam grills Phyllis about her latest venture, “as if it’s any of his business.”
Your call: Eight companies, eight exits — but several were sales, not sinkings. Is Christine right that Daniel is “setting himself up for failure,” or is a co-CEO son exactly the ballast Phyllis has never had?
