One day after walking out of Forrester Creations, Zende walked into Logan Designs and accepted the job. But he was not the first surprise through that door on Wednesday, and not the last. Here is the full sequence — what Dylan announced, the reason Zende gave, what Katie plans next — and what Will finally told Dylan when they were alone.
Katie blames Dylan — then Dylan walks in
At Logan, Katie was blaming Dylan for failing to deliver Zende; Will pushed back that Dylan had done his mother a favor and could not work miracles. Then Dylan arrived: “They fired me.” Katie was shocked: “They fired you?!” Dylan explained that Electra had painted her as a spy after catching her talking to Zende. Will blamed his mother for the position Dylan was in; Hope and Deke sympathized.
“I quit my job at Forrester”
Zende came in next. Will asked what he knew about the firing. Zende said he had tried to defend Dylan, that Ridge fired her anyway, and that he was done: “I left. I quit my job at Forrester.” He described his final confrontation at the company and said the family had not treated him right. His reason, as SoapsSpoilers reports it: he had wanted to stay, but the company slipped back into its old habits within minutes of promising to change. He loves his family, he said, but he cannot stay there. If the offer still stood, “I would be honored to be part of Team Logan.”
Katie and Hope hugged him. Everyone celebrated; Will chanted “Drinks!” Katie asked whether Brooke had been there, and everyone agreed she would be furious. Zende expected Steffy to be unhappy as well, and called it the craziest thing he has ever done — but he was there now. Katie, per Soap Central, started planning a press release, and she and Hope marveled at their luck: a new designer whose talent could take them further than they had planned.
What the Forresters were saying
At Forrester, Brooke heard the news from Ridge and guessed R.J. had been hogging the spotlight. Ridge: “That was part of it.” Brooke: “Oh my God! Another Forrester.” Ridge said Zende and Dylan are now a package deal; Eric worried Dylan could be feeding Logan information and called it a five-alarm fire. The episode ended with Brooke inside Logan, demanding of Katie, “Now you’ve taken Zende? How could you?!” Katie called it business; Brooke called it revenge.
The beach house: “I’ll fix this”
Will took Dylan home. He told her the firing was not her fault and that she would be okay. “I’ll fix this,” he promised, and she kissed him. Later, Dylan admitted she was still upset about losing her paycheck. Will blamed his mom and promised to make sure Katie gives her a job at Logan — Dylan’s reply, per Soaps.com, was that she does not even like Katie. Will changed the subject and told her what she does for him: she makes him smile, she always seems to be dancing, and he feels like a better man around her. Dylan said he had changed her life, and that she loves him. “I love you, too,” Will said.
How we got here
Katie asked Dylan on September 28 to get Zende talking to Hope. Zende gave his notice on October 9, was talked into staying by Eric on October 12 — the day Ridge fired Dylan over the meeting — and on October 13 told Ridge “If Dylan goes, I go” and left with her.

Per Soaps.com’s weekly spoilers: on Thursday, October 15, “in the wake of Wednesday’s reveal, Bill begins to worry about Katie,” and Finn tells Steffy he is returning home early. On Friday, October 16, “Brooke makes an appeal to Katie.” Soap Central closes its recap asking whether Will can get Dylan a job at Logan Designs.
