Monet Wants Drew on Team Curtis — Here's Every Player in Curtis's Fight to Get Out of Pentonville

General Hospital explainer · Updated Friday, October 16, 2026, before today’s episode

On Thursday’s General Hospital (Oct. 15), Monet laid out her plan to get Curtis out of Pentonville — and it starts with a PR campaign, not a court filing. To pull it off, she wants the help of a man with clout: Drew Cain. Curtis agreed, but warned her: “Be careful with Drew Cain.” Here is everyone involved in Curtis’s case right now, in the order it happened, and whose side each of them is really on.

1. The verdict — Aug. 13

A jury found Curtis guilty of assault. He was sentenced to ten years in Pentonville, eligible for parole after two, according to the Soaps.com recap. His lawyer at the time, Martin, said an appeal was possible but it was unclear whether it would make any difference.

2. Monet arrives — Sept. 23-24

Blythe Howard debuted as Monet, the new lawyer at Miller & Davis, on Sept. 23. Executive producer Frank Valentini promised “an unexpected connection to a beloved Port Charles resident.” The next day it landed: Monet is Jordan’s little sister. “If it isn’t my big sis!” she greeted Jordan.

3. The Pentonville attack — late September

Jenz Sidwell was beaten in Pentonville, and Curtis was hurt in the fight, which is why he’s been recovering at GH. Curtis came away describing himself, per Soap Opera Digest, as “collateral damage in a beating Sonny had ordered on Sidwell.”

4. Monet offers “a fresh set of eyes” — Sept. 29

Monet showed up at Curtis’s bedside calling herself his lawyer. She told him he didn’t have to accept how things turned out and that they could appeal, because he isn’t safe in prison. Curtis was surprised to hear he had a new lawyer.

5. The real story: Ava and Drew — Sept. 30

Viewers learned the truth Curtis still doesn’t know. Soap Opera Digest and Michael Fairman TV both report that Ava came up with the plan to pin Sidwell’s beating on Sonny, and Drew bankrolled it. Ava was horrified that Curtis got hurt; Drew argued Curtis could now be a trustworthy witness against Sonny’s “newfound legitimacy,” and promised to make it up to him.

6. “Jordan’s half-sister” — Oct. 9

Monet told Curtis directly that she is Jordan’s half-sister — and “the best damn lawyer there is” — to keep him from serving the rest of his sentence (Michael Fairman TV).

7. The hero plan — Oct. 15

Monet hasn’t filed the appeal yet. Her reasoning: “Good PR will help you with the judge and the appellate panel.” She wants Curtis to give an interview about saving Sidwell’s life. Jordan and Aurora Media were out — Jordan is in Baden-Baden for treatment on her scars, and Michael flew there with her. So Monet asked about “the former congressman.” Curtis said Drew had offered to help any way he could. Monet: “That’s the man I need to see.”

8. Willow gets cut loose — Oct. 15

Willow arrived with bad news: the governor isn’t taking her calls, so the transfer to Spring Ridge probably isn’t happening. Monet told her the governor likely doesn’t want to be seen with her after The Invader article, and that Curtis can’t afford her help right now. Monet even told Curtis that going back to Pentonville “could actually work in our favor” — “our hero in danger could actually build public sympathy.”

Where that leaves Curtis

The lawyer running his case is Jordan’s sister, the plan depends on public opinion, and the man she’s about to ask for help is the one who paid for the attack that put Curtis in that hospital bed. Today’s preview (Soaps.com, Friday Oct. 16) says “Ric takes on a new client” — Ric is already working against Hudson for Sonny this week.
