General Hospital recap, Friday, October 16, 2026
Lucy Coe’s plan to take back Deception came down to one signature on Friday’s General Hospital — and she sent her daughter to get it. By the end of the episode, Serena had put the document in front of Jason Morgan, told him exactly where to sign, and stepped out of the room. Jason was still reading when the credits rolled.
Scene 1: “Why do we have to manipulate Jason?”
At Deception, Serena pushed back. Michael already supports her ideas, she pointed out — so why go behind Jason’s back? Lucy didn’t move an inch: “The only way we’re gonna reach our goal is if we stick to the plan.”
Serena tried again: “I think Jason’s a decent guy.” Lucy chalked that up to Jason helping her save the falcons, then delivered the line of the day: “You know, Jason Morgan has done far worse than our little manipulation here, trust me.”
Scene 2: What the signature really gets Lucy
Lucy made it sound simple: “All you have to do is get Jason’s e-signature on that document. That is it.” Serena wasn’t convinced — “And you think he’s just going to sign anything I put in front of him?” Lucy’s answer: “No one really reads anything. They e-sign.”
Then Serena said out loud what the document is: “Mom, we can accomplish our goals at Deception without tricking Jason into signing over Michael’s proxy.” And Lucy said out loud what it’s for: “We really, really need his signature on that document so I can get control of Deception back in my hands, where it belongs.”
Note the words: not Serena’s hands — Lucy’s.
Scene 3: The Brown Dog — and the Korea deadline
Serena found Jason at the Brown Dog (after interrupting his tense run-in with Britt to “borrow” him). “I emailed you the document. All you have to do is e-sign,” she told him. “After that, I’ll get on the phone with the buyers in Korea and wrap it up.”
Jason didn’t bite: “I’m not going to sign anything until I read it. So why don’t you print out a hard copy? I’ll read it and I’ll sign it tomorrow.” Serena called it “basic boilerplate… more of a formality than anything else.” Jason: “Oh, great, there’s no rush.” Serena: “Not with the time difference. This has to be finalized by end of business today in Seoul. Deception cannot afford any more delays.”
Jason agreed — but on his terms. He went back to the office, and Serena went with him.
Scene 4: “Scroll down to the bottom”
At the office, Serena handed over the tablet: “Like I said, it’s all pretty standard. You just need to scroll down to the bottom of the document, you sign, and we’ll be all set.” She stepped out for a moment. “Take your time,” Jason told her. He was still reading as the episode ended.
The back-story
On Wednesday (Oct. 14), Michael left for Germany with Jordan and authorized Jason to handle ELQ matters and his work at Deception, according to Soap Central’s recap. Lucy was furious that Jason was in charge — “That man has an emotional range of 1 to 1” — and asked Serena to find a reason to talk to Jason so he would sign Michael’s proxy vote over to Serena. A few days later, Serena is the one doing the asking, and the one feeling guilty about it.
