In her eyes, that still makes him family. So what if this mystery relative turns out to be Ethan? This idea is pure speculation, but it fits the story nicely.

Tracy might want answers about the paternity nightmare. She could also dig up dirt on Jude before the custody war erupts. Ethan is reportedly on the run, so she may want to protect him. That would neatly explain her sudden and secretive trip. Either way, his lie built the foundation of this fragile family. Now Jude could tear it all down in a heartbeat.
